Following the acquisition, REC provides a market leading scope of emissions and air quality related services in the UK, including;

  • air quality, traffic and odour impact assessments;
  • assistance with permit and planning applications;
  • ambient air monitoring, including bioaerosols

The acquisition reinforces REC’s commitment to consistently enhancing its service offering, and investing for further growth.  In addition to the adding new services, REC will extend its geographical spread to include an additional presence in the East of England.

Paul Furmston, Managing Director of REC Environmental Monitoring Ltd, said of the acquisition “it has been our recent aim to increase REC’s range of emission monitoring services and EMG’s scope of capability and accreditation perfectly satisfies this goal in addition to providing additional experienced site teams and equipment.  This as an extremely positive move for both customers and employees as it provides a market leading offering of monitoring and associated services and a strong platform for future growth.”

Matthew Timms, Technical and Compliance Director of Shield On-Site Services, stated “The Emissions Monitoring Group had become a non core element of the Shield On-Site Services portfolio of services. The divestment of the business enables Shield On-Site Services to focus on its core business which is actively growing within the UK and Internationally. I’m confident the EMG business has found a good home at REC Environmental Monitoring Ltd and wish them every success in the future”
