The Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005 sets out the duties placed on employers with regard to potential noise impact on their employees.

It is now a legal requirement as an employer to carefully assess and identify measures in which to eliminate or effectively reduce the risks of exposure to noise in order to protect the hearing of employees.
Where risks identified are currently low, the actions required may be simple and low cost, but where the risks are identified as high, they should be managed in accordance with a noise-control action plan.
