Clean & Chlorination of Domestic Water Tank

REC Facilities Management were commisioned to carry out the complete clean and chlorination process of a single cold water storage tank which provided domestic water to a number of accommodation units across the site. 

The works were required to ensure all water systems were sterile and fit to be brought back in to service after a winter shutdown period and prior to re-occupation of the accommodation units.

After successful completion of the clean and chlorination of the water tank in accordance with BS 6700, the Health and Safety Manager awarded the group’s entire Legionella Control programme to REC Facilities Management.

Due to the complexity of the water systems and the geographical spread of the sites, REC Facilities Management implemented an electronic legionella risk assessment and legionella control programme to ensure the risk assessment and management programme was easily accessible at all times and continues to remain compliant with the approved code of practice L8.
