BREEAM Audit - Lead Building Survey

Buildings constructed prior to the mid 1980s often contain lead within their fabric or within the surface coverings; paints or fire door linings etc. Unmanaged, these may constitute a risk to site users.

A national infrastructure management company commissioned REC Facilities Management to undertake a lead survey as part of a BREEAM audit on their offices. REC were able to provide the required survey information in a timely and cost effective manner, presenting the client with significant cost savings.

The survey was undertaken during standard working hours, and with no disruption to office occupants. Samples were taken for testing at UKAS accredited laboratories in a manner ensuring minimal visual impact.

All accessible areas of the building were surveyed and detailed reporting of the survey’s findings including comprehensive plans, all laboratory data and summaries were presented to the client.
