REC Air Quality commissioned for International Work In Western Poland

13.08.12

REC have been commissioned to produce an Air Quality Assessment in support of a new energy from waste (EfW) plant in western Poland. This multi-million pound project will play an integral role in the waste management strategy for the region, producing low-carbon electricity from material that is currently disposed of via landfill. Although the exact project details cannot be released at this time, REC’s air quality consultants will use ADMS-4 to undertake dispersion modelling of atmospheric emissions from the plant and quantify potential changes in pollution levels at sensitive locations in the vicinity of the site.

The commission is the Air Quality Impact Group’s first in Central Europe, and we’ll be working closely with the international project team consisting of engineers from Iceland, Canada and Poland itself to ensure a smooth delivery for the plant, whilst protecting the local environment from any harmful air quality impacts.
