REC Remediation

Introduction to REC Remediation Ltd

The one-stop solution for site assessment and site remediation services is increasingly being sought by many land developers.

As a reaction to this commercial and market trend REC Ltd have established a separate company, REC Remediation Ltd to provide a vehicle for the undertaking of contaminated land remediation projects and for the control or eradication of Japanese Knotweed.

The remediation of contaminated land and water is widely acknowledged as a major challenge for today’s society. REC Remediation Ltd is able to provide a remediation service to clients who have land that is affected by contamination. This contamination can be either solid or liquid, organic or inorganic.

REC Remediation Ltd aims to provide a cost effective and pragmatic solution to clients for the removal or control of soil and groundwater contamination. The treatment or control of soil and groundwater contamination is achieved by the application of either traditional civil engineering techniques as well as more sophisticated innovative techniques, such as;

Ex-situ hydrocarbon treatment by bio-piling.
In-situ bioremediation.
In-situ chemical oxidation.
In situ-air sparging.
Dual vapour extraction.
Pumping and treatment of groundwater followed by filtration and air-stripping.
Installation of permeable reactive barriers.

Although REC Remediation Ltd has the necessary licences for the use of the above remedial techniques, the company has no vested interest in any remedial solution or technique. The adopted remedial technique is often based upon the end of the site, the remedial targets, timescale and of course the clients budgetary constraints.

Hydrocarbon Spill Management
REC Remediation Ltd has a wealth of experience in hydrocarbon spillage management and is involved in domestic and commercial spills in the UK and overseas. These contracts are usually reactive measures as a result of fuel losses from accidental spillages from tanks, fuel lines or from indirect discharge from a drain to a vulnerable receptor.

REC Remediation

As part of the service provided the remediation staff are well versed in the communication of the problems to the clients and are normally requested to liaise with the Environment Agency on the issues involved.

Remediation Service
There is in reality no such thing as a typical remediation project. Each one is unique with individual issues regarding access, contaminant depth and type, treatment types available, disposal routes and a host of other issues. However, REC Remediation Ltd has staff who have experience in site remediation from traditional ‘dig and dump’ to innovative groundwater treatments and bio-remediation. By combining the experience of the REC Remediation staff with appropriate remediation techniques, we can save our clients substantial sums of money and time on projects.

Site Validation Services
By the use of on site testing and quick turnaround testing at laboratories it is possible to accelerate the remediation process. This means that plant, staff and other resources do not stand still and it also allows faster completion of the project. This in turn allows the Client to progress the project with the minimum of delay and so achieve the end result with reduced costs and increased certainty.
