| Why carry out
Ground Improvement? |
Without ground treatment, on certain ‘difficult’
sites subject to new building loads, there could
be an unacceptable amount of settlement or the
risk of shear failure leading to cosmetic or
even catastrophic damage to buildings.
REC maximises the value of the proposed improvement techniques, by early
discussion with appropriate specialist contractors and by tailoring intrusive
investigations so that they provide the
technical data necessary for selection of the
most appropriate ground treatment option. Thus
investigative effort is optimised.
REC's engineers and consultants can ensure
that the improvement solution is directly
linked with any site remediation strategy for
dealing with risk aspects of contamination (eg.
controlled water or human health risks).
The ground improvement techniques deployed
for geotechnical reasons can quite often improve
the environmental setting of a site add still
further value to the integrated solutions being
proposed by REC.
REC provides high quality cost effective
improvement
options with complimentary remedial programmes
for a full range of sites, ranging from gasworks
to garages, and timber yards to tanneries. Poor
quality natural soils may also need treatment to
arrive at. |
